Cannot Install Gapps Insufficient storage space or you may seen an error “Insufficient storage space available in System partition”. This is an error, occurs while trying to install Gapps Zip from the sdcard, after installing the custom ROM. Of course, i have encountered this error, while i was trying and there was plenty of space (Out of 16GB, 12GB available) available on phone.
Cannot Install Gapps Insufficient storage space available in System partition, happens when the memory size of your system partition doesn’t have enough.The partitions inside the phone is divided in to several (i have done a blog post about this, you can find here) like boot, recovery, system, etc.
Some phones have system1 ans system2 equal in size.On my Xiaomi MI3 it was two partitions with equal size of 671MB.On, modern phones (after 2014 models) the system size has been increased to 1.2GB or above.
The main purpose of two system partitions that system1 and system2 is to install two Operating systems/Roms on the same phone.When you are flashing the phone with the custom rom, it takes most of the space from the system1 or system2, leaving you with no space to install Gapps.That’s when this error occurs.
The solution for the Insufficient storage space available in System partition error, is to increase the system partition size or combine both system1 and system2 together or shrink either one of the system partition and add the space to another one.

Also, when you get an error like this, Insufficient storage space available in System partition, Don’t panic there is a solution always.
