How to solve Unspecified error(0x80004005: FAILED (remote: size too large)) …? In Xiaomi phones some of you have seen this error “Unspecified error(0x80004005: FAILED (remote: size too large))” or “remote size too large)”. This happens when you combine the space of system1 and system2 together to get more space for installing Custom Roms and Gapps. After you have done this, you can revert it back using the same procedure. But, when you are trying to flash with stock Rom after that, the Unspecified error(0x80004005: FAILED (remote: size too large)) error populates and can’t flash.
The solutions to this is simple.I was having the same situation. My MI3 was not also being flashed over MI Flash Tool. So, i did little research and found the solution. You can’t flash with the stock Rom because, the stock revert zip i flashed has system sizes written in MB’s, instead of exact bytes.
So, what you have to do, download this zip that i have given below and flash. It will set your system partitions as they were at the time of manufacturing.
System partition script download
I have tested it by myself many times (It happened many time with Custom Roms), and this works well.
Also, it is recommended that you have to use the CWM r11 recovery to flash this ZIP.Other wise it may not work. You can download the CWM r11 from here.

tHIS PROBLEM I AM FACING WHEN TRIED TO FLASH REDMI NOTE PRIME (HMNote1S).
is the same method recommended by you will work ?
It will only work, if you use the exact system partition script for your model. The one, i am give is here for MI3. But, you can find one via MIUI Forum or there should be some website will have that. And, you have to flash the script, via CWM Recovery ( Exactly meant for Redmi Note Prime, otherwise it may not work. Twrp also, may not work). It should work.
May i ask you one question, have you combined the system patitions together …? I think that is what causing it.
Thank you for an early reply.
But my device Redmi Note prime is hard bricked.
Tried flashing fastboot rom in the begginning, Unspecified error message was coming.
Then pushed custom recovery through adb and installed stock rom.
from therefater No sim card message was coming.
Some people on MI forum suggested fastboot flash method for proper unbricking.
When i tried fastboot flash method, this is the error i am getting which is being discussed HERE….
Now after flashing this script, now i cant even flash recovery.
I think i’ve lost the plot…..
No, it’s not true. I have the same situation and can solve that. Just use the Correct CW and script to restore the partitions. It will work. You are doing something wrong, can you please give me more details about, how this started .. ?

After changing to a new PC and new USB cable, etc i was finally successful in flashing stock rom on my Redmi Note prime.
It booted. however no SIM Card message. , is coming.
when i try dial 8#06#, i get a Invalid IMEI message.
How to resolve this issue ?
I need to check with other MI Developers, i didn’t encountered a problem like this.
Hii
Plz solve my problem
I want to flash redmi 2 prime 2014818
Miui 8 lollipop
But its saying unspecified error
Plzz help
This happens most probably due to the changes in pertion sizes. Ok. Do one thing. Try to install some custom recovery and flash phone with some custom rom. Or Download the correct partition script from the MIUI forum website and flash it through the custom recovery (TWRP or CWM). Then try to flash the phone through MI Flash again. It should work. If it’s not working, try to flash the MIUI ROm through the custom recovery itself.
I am getting an error of “unfortunately, the process com.android ….” whenever i start my mobile and i am not able to do anything with the phone.
Please help me what to do. I have also tried to fastboot the mobile but i am getting an error of unspecified error and not able to fastboot it.
Kindly help for the same
Its looks like, some problems with the core system. Try a fresh install. Flash it. I don’t think manual fixing will do the job. So, i recommend a fresh and neat install. And,sorry for the late reply.
While doing flashing process in my xiaomi mi4 am getting an error that partition table doesn’t exist …how to solve this error for continuing the flashing process

I think you have to ew partition the system with the correct script. Search for the repartition script on MIUI form and use the cwm recovery to flash it…
